Phase III: Construction (2019-2025)
Our longest phase... are we done yet?
After receiving Planning Permissions in October 2018, We started construction in February 2019, and continued until mid 2025, when we finally declared an end to major construction works and sold the scaffolding!
Our plan was always to work mainly in the "good weather" months, and this approach has allowed us to keep a balance of time to regroup and re-prioritize projects and funding.
We started with the "New Build" so we would have a place to reside instead of renting.
The Tower was the next focus as we received grant funding from BIM and FLAG.
In 2021 we started work on the Big House, which was originally our priority! It was completed in 2023.
The agricultural building, which was only 2 walls remaining, got renamed the Coach House, being a more elegant term, and was worked from 2024-2025.
Most of the excavation was done at the start, and since 2025 we have been working on some landscaping and making the property NOT look like a construction site!
Since there are so many photos with this phase (we have accumulated about 15,000 so far!) they are separated by building so you can get an idea of the start and end of each.
