Pysanky technique often used in Ukraine and other Slavic countries to decorate blown eggs using wax and dyes. Join Iryna as we experiment with wax stylus and dyes to decorate an egg! Class is one hour and suitable for children 10 and up, provided they have good hand control and can take instruction. All children must be accompanied by their parent.
Pysanky is the most famous technique for decorating eggs around Easter time using a method to apply wax and then dye to reveal intricate patterns. The eggs can be further ornamented and are intended for permanent display or as gifts symbolizing good luck and nature’s annual rebirth in spring.
Participants provided with materials and designs to decorate one egg each. Come try out a new art skill!
