Paintings and Conservation of Sigginstown Castle 16th Century Tower

Sigginstown Castle has been restored from ruin. From 2019 to now many people have put their energy and talents into the buildings to bring them back to life. This is a special opportunity to hear Veda Crewe, a medieval and renaissance-style painter, talk about the various works in the castle, executed over the past 6 years. We will show you the sketches, and discuss techniques for execution, paints and processes used. Also conservation challenges working on a 500 year old structure!

Note that tower tours are a separate paid activity - daily at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m. during Heritage Week. This event will take place in the Coach House Cafe and is free.
