Private Castles of Forth and Bargy: Sigginstown and Butlerstown Castle Evening Tour

Tour the private castles of Forth and Bargy in this special eveninv event to benefit the Wexford Festival Singers! First you will see the tower of Sigginstown Castle in the Barony of Forth and hear about 500+ years of history and the recent renovations to make it live again.

The tower has six levels reached by a steep stone staircase with sturdy handrails on each side. Visitors get a chance to rest and visit at each level. Multiple floors gave been colorfully painted with examples from historical patterns.

Then visitors will proceed to Butlerstown Castle in Tomhaggard to see another larger tower in the neighboring Barony of Bargy. The two towers have many similarities and Butlerstown Castle provided Sigginstown with several key decisions on floors and crenellations due to it excellent preservation.
